As one of the most popular Chinese pork dishes, Pearl Meatballs (珍珠丸子) originated in Sichuan cuisine. Unlike many Sichuan dishes, these meatballs are not spicy. The dish gets its name from its unique preparation: pork meatballs are coated in white sticky rice and steamed until they glisten like pearls.
